Camelot Riding School has been offering horse riding lessons in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town (Durbanville) since 1993. Riders of all levels and ages are catered for – total beginners to advanced/competitive. The school also covers all disciplines: basic riding, show jumping, dressage, equitation etc. and the full time instructors are experienced and/or qualified. For info on the Spring Fun Jumping & Showing event held on Sunday 19 September, click here! Other services offered include livery; show assistance and schooling horses. THERE ARE 3 DIFFERENT LESSON STRUCTURES NAMELY: - GROUP LESSONS - for riders over eight years old. A 45 min lesson once per week with never more than six riders per lesson. Riders are grouped according to level of riding and age group as far as possible. Riders are assessed continuously so that they are always placed in a group benefiting their personal conditions.
- UNDER 8 YRS LESSONS - for riders under eight years old. A 30 min individual lesson once per week. Riders at this age benefit more from individual attention.
- INDIVIDUAL LESSONS - for riders over eight years old. Also mainly for riders with their own horses and/or those that wish to be competitive. A 45 min lesson once per week geared towards personal goals that the rider - horse combination would like to achieve.
Camelot Riding School is open for lessons every day of the week except Sunday and public holidays.
All lessons are paid for on a monthly basis in advance at a discounted rate. If riders would like to ride more than once per week the monthly rate is then adjusted accordingly. Greeting all riders and friends! Well, it has been a long time since we have updated this newsletter so we definitely have lots of news!
The main item of news on everyone’s lips is the departure of Gary. For everyone who does not know, Gary moved with his family to Australia to pursue other opportunities. The Riding School has been sold to Dr François Triegaardt, the owner of Hoogenoeg livery and the property that Camelot resides on. Most of you know François and know that he is an equine vet and loves horses as well as being an all round great guy! Nothing will change (other than for the better!) Lessons will continue as normal and you can look forward to a huge amount of fun events. All the regular faces are still around, Kirsty, Claire and Tanya have stayed to keep everything ship-shape!
